Russian journalist and social activist Zhanna Nemtsova has been conferred with the Lech Walesa Solidarity Prize 2015. Zhanna is the daughter of Russian politician Boris Nemtsov who was assassinated by unknown assailants on February 27, 2014. The Award is named after Lech Walesa, the legendary leader of the Solidarity movement that overthrew Communist rule in Poland, Poland’s former president and Nobel Peace Prize winner. Zhanna Nemtsova received the million-euro ($1.1 million) Polish prize for championing democracy and human rights.

- The Solidarity Prize is a Polish award for promotion and protection of democracy and civil liberties.
- The prize has been established by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
- Award carries monetary prize of US 1.1 million dollars.
- The first laureate of this award was Mustafa Dzhemilev, who is the leader of the Crimean Tatars. He was also nominated several times to the Nobel Peace Prize.
