Wordsmith is another initiative by the DayTodayGK team. Vocabulary indeed plays an important part in our daily life. Albeit we all have knowledge but we are unable to communicate due to lack of confidence, linguistic abilities and most of the time, we are unable to understand the meaning of the particular word.

So, here we present D2G’s Glossary in which we will share 10 words daily and we would encourage you to do the same. With this, we can increase our knowledge and build our Vocabulary stronger.

1) Prosaic- adjective
Meaning :having the style or diction of prose; lacking poetic beauty.
(नीरस)
Sentence:Unfortunately, the music on the whole is prosaic , even boring at times.

2) Unsullied-adjective
Meaning : not spoiled or made impure(शुद्ध)
Sentence: It is pristine and unsullied so long as we always draw from the source.

3) Slay: Verb
Meaning:kill (a person or animal) in a violent way.(हत्या करना)
Sentence: Brother slayed each other for money.

4) Exasperate: Verb
Meaning: irritate intensely, infuriate.(परेशान करना)
Sentence: The foul smell exasperated her.

5)Agony: Noun
Meaning: extreme physical or mental suffering.( कष्ट)
Sentence: She longed for death because of agony.

6) Realm: Noun
Meaning: a kingdom. (राज्य)
Sentence: The defense of the realm.

7)Valor:verb
Meaning: great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle.(वीरता)
Sentence: They received medals for the acts of valor.

8)Deliberate: Adjective, Verb
Meaning:done consciously and intentionally.( सोच विचार के किया हुआ)
Sentence: She deliberately left the exam.

9) Assassinate: Verb
Meaning: murder (an important person) for political or religious reasons. (हत्या करना)
Sentence: The organization’s leader had been assassinated four months before the coup

10) Butcher: Noun, verb
Meaning: slaughter or cut up (an animal) for food.(कसाई)
Sentence: the goat was then butchered and skinned.
