Wordsmith is another initiative by the DayTodayGK team. Vocabulary indeed plays an important part in our daily life. Albeit we all have knowledge but we are unable to communicate due to lack of confidence, linguistic abilities and most of the time, we are unable to understand the meaning of the particular word.

So, here we present D2G’s Glossary in which we will share 10 words daily and we would encourage you to do the same. With this, we can increase our knowledge and build our Vocabulary stronger

Solitary: Adjective, Noun
Meaning: done or existing alone.(अकेला) (தனிமை வாய்ந்த)
Sentence: I live a pretty solitary life.

Savage: Adjective, Noun, verb
Meaning: (of an animal or force of nature) fierce, violent, and uncontrolled.(निर्दय) (காட்டுமிராண்டி)
Sentence: Packs of savage dogs roamed the streets.

Precipitous: Adjective
Meaning: dangerously high or steep.(त्वरित) (செங்குத்தான)
Sentence: The track skirted a precipitous drop

Sheer: Adjective
Meaning: nothing other than; unmitigated (used for emphasis).(परिपूर्ण) (கலப்பற்ற)
Sentence: she giggled with sheer delight.

Discreet: Adjective
Meaning: careful and prudent in one’s speech or actions, especially in order to keep something confidential or to avoid embarrassment. (सावधान) (முன்விழிப்புடைய )

Quietude: Noun
Meaning: a state of stillness, calmness, and quiet in a person or place.( वैराग्य) (சாந்தம் )

Belligerence: Noun
Meaning: aggressive or warlike behaviour.(युद्धस्थिति) (போர்வெறி கொண்ட)

Audacious: Adjective
Meaning: showing a willingness to take surprisingly bold risks.(निडर) (அதி துணிச்சலான)

Obstinate: Adjective

Fable: Noun, verb
Meaning: a short story, typically with animals as characters, conveying a moral.(मिथ्या रचना) (கட்டுக்கதை)
Sentence: The fable of the sick lion and the wary fox
