Veteran journalist, Praful Bidwai has died at the age of 64 during a visit to the Netherlands. Bidwai was attending a conference in Amsterdam on 24th June 2015 when he got choked on his food and died.
He died at the age of 66.

- Bidwai became a freelance commentator, writing for publications in India and abroad.
- He was a critic of the Narendra Modi-led ruling NDA government and in an article in UK-based ‘The Guardian’.
- He also wrote a regular column for ‘Frontline’ and ‘Hindustan Times’ for several years.
