Veteran Historian and social scientist Dr Amalendu Guha has passed away at the age of 91 due to age related issues. Guha is survived by his wife and eminent writer Anima Guha and a son. Guha became very famous for his book Planter Raj to Swaraj. Guha’s body was donated to the Gauhati Medical College as per his will he wrote in 2005. He also pledged his eyes to Shankardev Nethralaya, Guwahati. He was known for his extensive research related to the socio-economic history of Assam.
