Uttar Pradesh bags First Prize for Best State in Inland Fisheries (1)

During the tenure of the Yogi Adityanath government, the state of Uttar Pradesh has been recognized as the “Best State” for its inland fisheries, namely those that are located in plain areas.

Within the context of the Global Fisheries Conference 2023, which will take place in Delhi on November 21 and 22, the state is scheduled to be presented with this distinguished honor.

Sanjay Nishad, who serves as the Cabinet Minister for Fisheries, announced this accomplishment and credited it to the unrelenting efforts of the government to develop fisheries and increase the income of fishermen.

It was Pradhan. The Effects of the Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojna

The implementation of 31 projects undertaken by the Pradhan Mantri Sampada Yojna in the state of Uttar Pradesh is another evidence of the achievement that has been achieved in the field of fisheries.

Within the context of these activities, a sizeable amount of Rs. 15,282.5 has been distributed to those who have benefited from them. In addition to contributing to the expansion of the business as a whole, the purpose of this financial assistance is to provide individuals who are involved in the fishing industry more authority.

The Chief Minister’s Approach, Which Is Visionary

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s strategic vision has driven Uttar Pradesh to the top position in inland fish farming across the country, and Sanjay Nishad brought attention to the visionary approach that Adityanath has taken.

Over the previous six and a half years, there has been a substantial rise in the amount of fish that has been produced as a result of the implementation of initiatives that assist fish farming.

Exceptional Development in the Production of Fish

Fish output has seen spectacular growth, with this year’s value hitting 9.15 lakh metric tons, which is significantly higher than the 8.09 lakh metric tonnes that were produced the previous year, according to the fisheries department.

In addition, the production of fish seeds has experienced a significant increase, reaching 36,187 lakh metric tonnes, which is a significant increase over the previous year’s total of 27,128 lakh metric tonnes.

Fishermen’s Welfare Programs and Services

There have been 1,16,159 fishermen in the state who have benefited from the Fisherman Accident Insurance Scheme, which was discussed by the Minister more thoroughly.

With the help of this program, families of fishermen who have lost their lives in accidents are eligible to receive financial support in the amount of Rs. 5 lakh, Rs. 2.5 lakh for those who have become disabled, and Rs. 25,000 for those who have been hurt.

The implementation of these regulations demonstrates the government’s dedication to ensuring the health and safety of individuals who are employed in the fishing industry.

The development of infrastructure and the expansion of ranching properties

There have been significant gains made in the expansion of ranching, which was once restricted to a total of 12 districts but has since expanded to a total of 68 departments.

In addition, to establish the state as a center for fisheries, an ultra-modern fish mall is currently being constructed in Chandauli with an investment of 62 crores of rupees. This program is in line with the border goal of improving the infrastructure of the fishing sector.

Assistance with Financial Matters and Educational Programs

The Yogi government’s dedication to assisting fishermen is demonstrated by the fact that it has granted bank loans totaling Rs. 10,772.77 lakh to 14,021 fishermen in the current tax year.

Over one thousand five hundred fishermen have received training in fish farming from the Department of Fisheries, which highlights the significance of skill development in maintaining the expansion of the fishing industry.
