Rafael Nadal captured his 19th career Grand Slam title by winning the US Open final, outlasting Russia’s Daniil Medvedev 7-5, 6-3, 5-7, 4-6, 6-4 to seize his fourth crown in New York.

Bianca beats Serena to become 1st Canadian to win Grand Slam singles title

Teenager Bianca Andreescu stunned Serena Williams in a gripping US Open final to claim a first Grand Slam title and deny the American a 24th major. She is the first Canadian to win a tennis major and the first teenager to win a Grand Slam since Maria Sharapova claimed the 2006 title at Flushing Meadows. She is the first teenager to win their maiden Slam since Russian Sharapova at Wimbledon in 2004.

Jamie Murray wins US Open mixed doubles for 3rd straight time

Britain’s Jamie Murray and USA’s Bethanie Mattek-Sands defeated top seeds New Zealand’s Michael Venus and Taiwan’s Chan Hao-ching 6-2 6-3 to retain their US Open mixed doubles title. Jamie had also won the same title with Switzerland’s retired tennis player Martina Hingis in tournament’s 2017 edition. Notably, Jamie won a US Open title for the fourth successive year.
