Government of India has launched a mobile App to know gram panchayats assets. The app was launched by Union Rural Development and Minister Birender Singh on the occasion of Digital India Week in New Delhi. The main objective of this app is to provide people with the information related to assets of the gram panchayats.

The app has been named as “m-asset” and citizens can use this mobile app to capture photographs and geographical coordinates of various public assets in gram panchayats, like schools and hospitals etc. The App will also be useful for planning purpose at the Panchayat and State level.

Digital India Week was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 1 July 2015. It seeks to educate, inform and engage citizens about the ongoing initiatives of the Union government in the area of e-governance. The ministry has advised all states and union territories to actively engage Panchayats during the Digital India Week.
