Amit Shah on 7th July 2015 launched the book ‘Transcendence’. The book is written by former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in Ahmedabad. The book takes the reader to the Mr. Kalam’s spiritual experiences with Pramaukh Swami Maharaj.
Neither Kalam nor Pramukh Swami was present at the event.
About Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam
- He is an Indian scientist who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.
- Kalam was born and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu.
- He spent the next four decades as a scientist and science administrator, mainly at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
- After serving a term of 5 years, he returned to civilian life of education, writing, and public service.
- Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931.
- Kalam started his career by designing a small helicopter for theIndian Army.
- In 1969, Kalam was transferred to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)where he was the project director of India’s first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III)

- He has also received honorary doctorates from 40 universities.
- The Government of India has honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 1981 and the Padma Vibhushan in 1990.
- In 1997, Kalam received India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna.
