How to Deal with Range Anxiety

  • It is the main goal of Tata Power and IOCL’s strategic partnership to build a stable and large intercity charging network.
  • The goal of this project is to help EV owners deal with range anxiety, which happens a lot when they move between cities.
  • The partnership wants to make charging infrastructure easier to get to and more convenient by putting charging stations for electric vehicles in big towns and along important highways.

Across the whole country

  • The charging stations for electric vehicles will be put in strategic places in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Kochi.
  • The network will also go along important highways like the Golden Quadrilateral, the Salem-Kochi Highway, the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, and the Guntur-Chennai Highway.
  • This wide service is necessary to make long-distance travel easier and to encourage people across the country to buy electric cars.

Taking advantage of IOCL’s presence

  • Tata Power wants to use Indian Oil Corporation’s large retail network to its advantage by putting in fast and quick charging stations in a number of areas.
  • Tata Power’s Head of Business Development for EV Charging, Virendra Goyal, says that the goal of this partnership is to make electric transport more accessible and open to everyone.

Charging experience that is easy to use

  • The “Tata Power EZ Charge” and “IndianOil e-Charge” apps will make it easier for customers to handle their devices.
  • These apps will make it easy for EV drivers to find and book charging stations, making the whole process smooth and simple.

Plans that IOCL has big

  • Shri Saumitra Shrivastava, who is the Executive Director (Retail-N&E) at IOCL, wants to set up 10,000 charging points for electric vehicles by 2024.
  • IOCL wants to reach more people, so this change to turn the retail network into places that offer full energy options makes sense.
  • Even though there are already more than 6,000 EV charging points in use, the company is still determined to make a bigger impact on the changing world of electric mobility.

Tata Power has a lot of charging stations.

  • At this point, Tata Power has a strong charging network in more than 420 Indian towns.
  • Over 62,000 home chargers, 4,900 public and semi-public charging points, and 430 bus charging sites make up this list.
  • Tata Power’s place in the EV charging ecosystem will get even stronger with the help of IOCL.
