Solung festival begins in Arunachal pradesh

The Northeast region is home to a number of tribes, each with a distinct culture and rich heritage. The Adi tribe of Arunachal Pradesh recently celebrated the Solung Festival, which is associated with farming. In Delhi, people from the Adi tribe organized a special event to celebrate the festival.

• >>A large number of people, including students and politicians from the Northeast residing in the capital came together at the Constitution Club to celebrate the harvest festival of the Adi tribe.. Dressed in colorful attires, artists presented various traditional dances to mark the festival.

• >>Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Minister General V.K. Singh (Retired), who attended the event along with other Members of Parliament, emphasized on the need to showcase the rich culture of the northeast in other parts.

• >>The audience had a gala time listening to songs performed by young artists in Hindi and Arunachali. The festival was also celebrated in Arunachal Pradesh with gaiety and religious fervor.

• >>A large number of people gathered at the Solung Mopin festival ground in Itanagar to take part in the festivities. Apart from the rituals performed to appease the Solung Goddesses for a bumper harvest, the festival was marked by traditional dance performances.
