IT minister KT Rama Rao has been selected for the Skoch Award in the Startup India category for his initiative in establishing the path breaking tech incubator T-Hub.
Instituted in 2003, Skoch Challenger Awards – the highest independently instituted civilian honours – have been conferred on some of the best brains from across the country for their efforts in the area of digital, financial and social inclusion.
The committee took note of KTR’s efforts over the last 20 months in governance and building world-class startup ecosystem in TS.
Meanwhile, Union urban Development minister M Venkaiah Naidu has been selected for the Skoch Lifetime Achievement Award.
About Skoch Award
- Skoch Smart Governance Award is an initiative recognising top performing government organisations and organisations working with the government, operating at local, state and national level in the area of Health, Education, Rural Development/Panchayati Raj, Urban Development, Finance, and Security.
- It recognize the best practices and models of governance for excellent and efficient implementation of programmes and services delivery.
- As a part of the process, an Awards Committee is constituted, which comprises of senior professionals from academia, government, industry and other stakeholders in the area of governance. Initial screening of the project is carried out on the basis of the information sought in the prescribed format.
