Renowned journalist Babu Bharadwaj died

Renowned writer and journalist Babu Bharadwaj, 68, passed away due to cardiac arrest. Bharadwaj had been a part of prominent print and television media in Kerala. Kalapangalkkoru Grihapadam, a novel penned by him, won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi award in 2006.

  • Bharadwaj’s other famous works include Pravasiyude KurippukalShavaghoshayathra (novelettes), Puppet Theatre (short story collection), Pravasiyude Vazhiyambalangal and Adrushya Nagarangal.
  • He was working as the chief editor of the online news portal Dool News.
  • He had worked with Kairali TV, Chinta Magazine and Media One. He was the first Joint Secretary of Students’ Federation of India.
  • The writer had also produced a Malayalam movie named Iniyum Marichittillatha Nammal in 1980. It was directed by Chintha Ravi.
  • Bharadwaj was born at Chemmenchery in Kozhikode in 1948. He studied at Poyilkavu High School, Malabar Christian College, Thrissur Engineering College.
  • He completed his college education from Thrissur Government Engineering College and Malabar Christian College.
