Ravi Shastri has been retained as the Team Director of the Indian cricket team till the 2016 T20 World Cup at home, based on the recommendations of the BCCI advisory committee. Shastri, who was appointed Team Director in August 2014, has been given another seven-month extension till the completion of the World T20 in April. Ravi Shastri took over the job after the England Test loss last year.

BCCI seemed to be happy with the recent performances of India and the efforts of the coaching staff. Thus they have all been rewarded with an important extension until the T20 World Cup in 2016.

Along with Mr. Shastri, the Committee also approved the extension of the following Assistant coaches till the ICC World T20 2016.

1. Mr. Sanjay Bangar (Assistant Coach- Batting)

3. Mr. R. Sridhar (Assistant Coach- Fielding).
