Journalists now need not go to counters for booking train tickets as the Indian Railways launched e-booking for scribes on concessional passes available to them. During the launch, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said “It was promised in the budget to provide e-booking facility to journalists and today we fulfilled it”. Journalists were earlier required to book ticket on concessional passes at PRS counters. In order to avail the benefit of the e-booking facility, journalists have to use their registered ID card number issued by Railways to book tickets.
