SIMPLE INTEREST
1. Find the Simple Interest on Rs. 5000 at 27/4 % per annum for the period from 5th February 2006 to 19th April 2006.
Solution
NOTE : 2006 is not a Leap Year. The day on which money is deposited is not counted. Day on which money is withdrawn is counted.
2. A sum of Rs 1000 amounts to Rs 1500 in 4 years at simple interest. If the interest rate is increased by 4%, it would amount to how much?
3. Shiva borrowed some money at the rate of 8% per annum for the first 3 years, at the rate of 12% per annum for the next four years, and at the rate of 15% per annum for the period beyond seven years. If he pays a total interest of Rs 12500 at the end of Twelve years, how much money did he borrow?
4. A certain sum of money amounts to Rs 1500 in two years and Rs 2001 in (7/2) years. Find the Sum and Rate of interest.
5. The SI on a certain sum of Money for 6 years at 12% annum is Rs 75 less than the SI on a same sum for 8 years at 10% per annum. Find the sum.
