- Sindhu, who was looking to win her second Super Series title in as many weeks, got off to a good start as she raced away to a 6-3 lead in the first game but she squandered the opportunity and lost the next eight points. Ying never let the momentum slip and she opened up a seven-point lead. Although Sindhu closed the gap, she never regained ground and lost the first game 15-21.
- Ying, who has two wins over world No.1 Carolina Marin in two weeks, continued her magnificent form and was not bogged down when Sindhu raced away to a 4-1 lead in the second game.
