Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra has bagged the favourite actress in new TV series honour at the 2016 People Choice Awards for her performance of an FBI recruit on American show Quantico. Priyanka becomes the first Indian actor to register a win at the People Choice Awards. She beat popular Hollywood and TV actresses like Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele and Marcia Gay Harden to bag the award. Currently in its 42nd edition, the popular American awards show recognises the people and the work of popular culture, where votes are given by the general public.
The National Award winning actress, best known for her roles in films like Andaaz, Aitraaz, Krrish, Fashion and Mary Kom, was last seen on the silver screen as Kashibai in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2015 film Bajirao Mastani.
