Prashant Pathrabe to take over as new FTII Director

The Ministry of Information And Broadcasting has given additional charge to former director of the National Film Archives of India, Prashant Pathrabe as new director of Film and Television Institute of India. Prashant Pathrabe, a 1992 batch officer of Indian Information Services (IIS) to succeed D J Narrain as his term is ending. Pathrabe has been in the media field for more than 18 years, having previously worked in Doordarshan News and AIR News in Mumbai.

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India.

It is situated on the premises of the erstwhile Prabhat Film Company in Pune.

FTII is a member of the International Liaison Centre of Schools of Cinema and Television (CILECT), an organisation of the world’s leading schools of film and television.

The FTII is registered under Societies’ Registration Act of 1860.
