Points to Remember about Modi’s Three Nation Visit
- In China, Modi will hold bilateral meetings with the country’s Top Leaders and participate in cultural and business events.
- The prime minister will also attend an event organised by the Indian community in China.
- China is keen to invest in the renewable energy sector—in solar and nuclear energy—as well as to develop power stations. Chinese companies were also keen to join Prime Minister Modi’s “Make in India” programme.
- Modi will discuss about the border issue in Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
- This is the first ever visit by an Indian prime minister to Mongolia. Modi is likely to announce measures to strengthen economic and defence ties.
- India and Mongolia also have a civil nuclear cooperation pact for uranium supplies to India.
- In South Korea, Modi will hold bilateral discussions with President Park Geun-hye and meet with important business leaders in Seoul.
- The foreign ministry website states that 2015 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Mongolia.
