PepsiCo India Appoints Marketing chief Jagrut Kotecha as new CEO

During a period of strategic realignment, PepsiCo India has named Jagrut Kotecha to the position of Chief Executive Officer, following Ahmed El Sheikh.

PepsiCo India’s operations are scheduled to be led by Kotecha, who is presently serving as the Chief Commercial Officer for PepsiCo in Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia (AMESA).

This appointment is scheduled to take place in March of 2024. At the same time as Ahmed El Sheikh is transitioning into his new post as CEO of PepsiCo’s Middle East Business Unit, this change has taken place.

Kotecha’s Experiences Working with PepsiCo

The success of PepsiCo has been significantly aided by Jagrut Kotecha, who has worked for the company for more than three decades and has earned major contributions.

When he first started working for PepsiCo in 1994, he was assigned to the Sales and Marketing team in India. As Kotecha worked his way up the corporate ladder, he started taking on a variety of positions, including those of Regional Sales Manager and Marketing Manager for Western Snack.

His experience in overseas work includes stints in Thailand and the Philippines, among other places. As of January 2020, he has been serving as the Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for AMESA. This position was his most recent one.

Formal Education and Experience

A graduate of the University of Mumbai with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Kotecha also possesses a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) established by SVKM.
