Pankaj Patel elected as FICCI President for 2017

Chairman and managing director of Cadila Healthcare Ltd, Pankaj Patel has been elected president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) for 2017. Patel will take over from Harshavardhan Neotia, chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group, during the FICCI AGM to be held on 16 and 17 December in New Delhi.

  • Established in 1927, FICCI, an association of business organizations, is regarded as one of the oldest and largest ones in the country.
  • Patel is actively involved in various educational institutions and is on the advisory committees and academic councils of several educational institutions such as Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, (IISER) Kolkata, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, The Ahmedabad University and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.
  • He is the executive chairman, vice president and trustee of the Gujarat Cancer Society and chairman of the Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute, a Regional Cancer Centre and one of the largest cancer centres of India, reaching out to the needy and underprivileged cancer patients, according to a FICCI statement.
