The toughest challenge for Sindhu was expected be her bout against Chinese shuttler Wang Yin. However, Sindhu won the extremely competitive match with a 22-20, 21-19 score.
  • In the semifinals, she met Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara. Sindhu kept the Japanese shuttler on the defensive mode since the start match. She was in top form, and it was by far, her most dominant performance. Sindhu had won the match 21-9, 21-10.
  • The greatest challenge to PV Sindhu came in the finals when she took on Spain’s legendary shuttler Carolina Marin.
