Digital payment solution firm Oxigen Services said it has signed up India’s legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador. Oxigen has roped in Sachin Tendulkar to expand reach especially after the company failed to obtain a payment bank licence from the Reserve Bank of India a month ago.
Oxigen created digital wallet for transactions in 2008 and is the first non-banking firm to connect with NPCI for instant money transfers. The digital wallet company Oxigen has planned to spend US$ 15 million or about Rs 99 crore for campaigning as official sponsor of the South African T20 cricket team during their tour to India in October.
Oxigen, which had too applied for a licence, is now working in partnership with RBL Bank to take care of their payment solutions. It is providing more retail access points for the bank customers.
