10.Karnataka, Gujarat lifted ban on Maggi Noodles
The Karnataka and Gujarat Governments on 19 October 2015 lifted the ban on manufacturing and sale of Nestle India’s popular instant food brand Maggi noodles. The decision came following the clean chit given by three government-approved laboratories to Maggi noodles. All the samples of Maggi cleared tests conducted by three laboratories, as mandated by the Bombay High Court. The company will now relaunch the product soon.
11. Centre calls meeting of CMs of seven Naxal-hit states on Nov 3’2015
With Maoist violence continuing unabated, the Centre has called a meeting of chief ministers of seven Naxal-affected states on November 3 to chalk out a strategy to fight the menace. The meeting, to be chaired by Union Home Minister of India Rajnath Singh, will discuss overall Left-wing extremism (LWE) scenario in 35 worst-affected states in the seven states – Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Telangana – besides issues like inter-state coordination
12. FIFA confirms election next year
World football’s governing body Fifa has confirmed it will hold the election for its next president at a special congress on 26 February 2016.The election will determine who will succeed Sepp Blatter, who has been president since 1998.
13. Tunnel Technology Institute at Margao in Goa by Konkan Railway
To enable training for the technology hitherto unavailable in the country, a tunnel technology institute will be established by Konkan Railway at Goa’s Margao town. The institute will be named as ‘George Fernandes Institute of Tunnel Technology’, after former Railway Minister George Fernandes.(The driving force behind the Konkan Railway)
