North Korea test-fires submarine launched ballistic missile

North Korea has conducted a successful underwater test-fire of a submarine-launched ballistic missile. North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, who personally oversaw the test, hailed the newly developed missile as a “world-level strategic weapon”. Leader Kim Jong-Un gave the order to test-fire the missile and watched as it was launched from an attack submarine.

If the tests were successful as reported by North Korea, it would take North Korea to a whole new level in military strength. It will be a  threat to countries like South Korea and Japan. It would even be able to attack U.S. military bases in East Asia.

The UN has issued a sanction banning North Korea from developing ballistic missile technology. However, the state has completely ignored these sanctions. Whenever North Korea test-fires ranged missiles, it gains international attention and also draws criticisms and condemnation from the international community.
