“No more Ebola in Liberia” says WHO

After losing thousands of its people to the deadly virus, Liberia has been finally declared free of the Ebola virus by the World Health Organization. The WHO has confirmed that the country has had no new cases in the last 42 days. The Ebola in Liberia had killed more than 4500 people in the last one year.

The deadly virus had trembled to the country’s economy, education, and also the mind of the people. Liberia is one of three West African countries (Guinea and Sierra Leone are the other two) at the center of the largest epidemic by far of Ebola since the disease was first reported in 1976.

According to the statistics of WHO, more than 11,000 people have died of Ebola in the three countries. The World Bank Group has estimated that the GDP losses for the three nations have crossed more than $2.2 billion in last one year.
