Governor of Tripura

Tathagata Roy, a BJP Leader from West Bengal, has sworn in as Tripura Governor before Tripura High Court Chief Justice Deepak Gupta. He raised many controversies because of his anti-Muslim tweets. He was a teacher in a University before joining politics. The Chief Minister, his ministerial colleagues and senior bureaucrats were present at the Raj Bhavan when Mr. Roy was accorded an official welcome.

Governor of Meghalaya

Senior BJP leader V Shanmuganathan sworn-in as the Governor of Meghalaya before the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court Uma Nath Singh. Shanmuganathan is a post-graduate and an M Phil in political Science. He joined RSS in 1962 and later joined BJP and was given many party positions. He had written three books relating to culture and social aspects in Tamil. Meghalaya was without a permanent governor for over four months.
