Malayalam Actor Paravoor Bharathan dies at 86

Malayalam actor Paravoor Bharathan has passed away at the age of 86 due to prolonged illness. He has acted in nearly 300 regional films. He had been battling several ailments since 2009. He began his career in the late 1940s with drama. He first appeared in films in 1951 and was an integral part of the film industry till 2009.

He began his career in films as a villain and migrated to character roles, thereafter. Some of his films include In Harihara Nagar,Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava, Aniathipravu, and Meleparambil Aanveedu. He has also acted in movies starring Mammootty, Mohanlal and new generation heroes of Malayalam films. He last appeared in “Changathikoottam”. Mr Bharathan is survived by his wife, actress Thankamani, three sons and a daughter.
