The Modi Ministry is the Council of Ministers headed by Narendra Modi that was formed after the 2014 general election which was held in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May in 2014.
The results of the election were announced on 16 May 2014 and this led to the formation of the 16th Lok Sabha. The Council assumed office on 26 May 2014.

- Modi’s Council of Ministers consists of 9 female ministers, of whom 6 hold the rank of Cabinet minister.
- This is the highest number of female Cabinet ministers in any Indian government in history.
- The only other government to appoint more than 1 female Cabinet minister was the first UPA government from 2004 to 2009, which had 3 female Cabinet Ministers.
- The total strength of the Union Council of Ministers has been capped at 82. Article 72 of the Constitution prescribes that the total number of Ministers, including the Prime Minister, in the Council of Ministers shall not exceed 15 per cent of the number of members of the House of the People.
