The NBA has lost one of the most dynamic players and personalities in its history, as Darryl Dawkins passed away at the age of 58 due to heart attack. He was also referred as “Chocolate Thunder”. Dawkins was the first player drafted directly out of high school (fifth overall in 1975). His 6’11” frame and elite athleticism made him one of the most physically imposing big men of his era. He became very famous when he broke backboards while dunking. He broke it twice. Each time he shattered the glass into little shards that looked like tiny bits of ice strewn around the court.
