By expanding into logistics, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) reached a major turning point in its history.
Namma Cargo, a new service that allows passengers to bring their own goods on KSRTC buses, was launched by Minister of Transport Ramalinga Reddy.
At the inaugural event, twenty cargo vehicles were sent out to different regions around the state to begin the “Namma Cargo” services.
Kosmo Coach Builders Private Limited and I Have an Agreement
Through a smart partnership, KSRTC was able to get freight trucks for a two-month rental period from KMS Coach Builders Private Limited.
The company’s dedication to making the most of available resources in order to launch the logistics service effectively is evident in this partnership.
Contract with the Private Limited Company of S.M. Kannappa Automobiles
To further diversify its fleet resources for freight transportation, KSRTC has made another noteworthy move by entering into a deal with S.M. Kannappa Automobiles Private Limited.
This agreement, which is expected to continue for one month, exemplifies KSRTC’s quickness in forging collaborative relationships to strengthen its logistical capacities.
Trucks’ Quick Induction
With the aim of inducting 100 trucks within the first month of operation, Minister Reddy revealed ambitious ambitions for the ‘Namma Cargo’ services.
That shows how serious KSRTC is about meeting the rising demand for its freight transportation services by rapidly increasing its logistics fleet.
Annual Objective
In the future, KSRTC plans to increase the fleet size of cargo trucks to 500 vehicles in the next 12 months.
This far-sighted plan highlights the company’s commitment to becoming a major player in the logistics industry, offering dependable and effective services all over the state.
The Basaveshwara Bus Station Depot in Peenya
The Basaveshwara bus station in Peenya, Bengaluru city, has been chosen as the main depot of KSRTC to facilitate the operation and maintenance of the cargo vehicles.
It is believed that the ‘Namma Cargo’ services will benefit from this prime location, which will allow for streamlined logistics operations.
GPS-Enabled Vehicles
The use of global positioning systems (GPS) by the “Namma Cargo” trucks guarantees the safe and efficient transfer of goods.
In addition to improving the security of transported products, this state-of-the-art tracking facility allows for real-time monitoring, which in turn increases the dependability of KSRTC’s cargo services.
