Ganesh Singh appointed Head of Joint Parliamentary Committee for Land Acquisition Bill

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan reformed the Joint Parliamentry Committe(JPC) for Land Acquistion Bill and appointed Ganesh Singh, member of parliament of BJP from Satna constituency of Madhya Pradesh as its new head.

According to a notification issued from Lok Sabha secretariat, Ms Mahajan appointed Mr Singh as head of the 30 member Joint Committee on the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015.
He was a member of 13th and 14th lok Sabha and this is the third term for Mr Singh.

IRCTC, SBI sign MoU on promotion of rail ticketing activities

The country’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India (SBI) and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to hammer out a detailed plan for promotion of rail ticketing activities, including internet ticketing and unreserved ticketing system. Under the MoU, the signatories “will jointly explore areas of cooperation and draw up a detailed plan for promotion of rail ticketing activities.

PM Modi salutes Chandra Shekhar Azad and Bal Gangadhar Tilak on their birth anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 23july  paid tribute to freedom fighters Chandra Shekhar Azad and Bal Gangadhar Tilak on their birth anniversaries. “I salute the courageous Chandra Shekhar Azad, who won the admiration of countless Indians due to his valour, on his birth anniversary,” Modi tweeted. In another tweet, he said: “Lokmanya Tilak’s efforts instilled a much needed sense of pride and self-confidence, which contributed in shaping India’s history.”

Navy puts its might in massive search on for missing IAF plane

Eastern Naval Command (ENC) has deployed two P8i Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft with advanced electro-optics and radars, two Dornier aircraft and twelve ships with integral helicopters to join the search operations initiated to locate the Indian Air Force AN-32 transport aircraft reported missing approx 300 km due East of Chennai .

Kargil Vijay Diwas : 26th July

Kargil Vijay Diwas, named after the success of Operation Vijay. On this day, 26 July 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistani intruders.

This year The army is celebrating the 17th Kargil Vijay Diwas to commemorate the victory in the war against Pakistan. The week-long celebrations that culminate on Vijay Diwas 26 July, had begun on 21 July.

Kohli becomes first Indian captain to score overseas double ton

Virat Kohli, the record breaking machine, added more milestones to his name on the second day of the first Test against West Indies. He scored 200 runs against West Indies ,

The latest record for the Indian skipper sees him go past Mohammad Azharuddin with the highest score by an Indian captain away from home. Azhar had previously scored 192 against New Zealand in Auckland in 1989-90 season.
