Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired exclusive television and digital rights or the International Champions Cup 2016 for the Indian sub-continent.
The International Champions Cup 2016 is the first tournament of the 2016-17 football season and will kick-off the 2016-17 club season across the world.

India ranks 110th on Sustainable Development index
India is ranked at a low 110 of 149 nations with regard to achieving the SustainableDevelopment Goals, according to a new index topped by Sweden that shows all countries face major challenges in achievingthese ambitious goals.
The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and the Bertelsmann Stiftung launched a new Sustainable Development Goal Index and Dashboard to provide a report card for tracking Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) progress and ensuring accountability.

Pakistan’s Yasir Shah scales number one spot in ICC Test rankings
Wrist spinner Yasir Shah has scaled the number spot in the ICC Test rankings, becoming the first Pakistani bowler to do so since Mushtaq Ahmed achieved the feat in December 1996.
He reached the number-one spot after bowling Pakistan to a 75-run victory over England in the first Test at Lord’s .

India’s first e-court opened at Hyderabad High Court
India’s first e-court was opened at High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad, which is the common high court for the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Inaugurating the e-court, Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B. Lokur said Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were first two states in the country to be chosen for Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS) project.

Tata STRIVE skill development centre launched in Hyderabad
Tata STRIVE, an initiative of Tata Community Initiatives Trust launched its first skill development centre in Hyderabad.Spread over 17,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art centre will skill youth in Telangana in the BPO, banking, financial services, insurance and retail industries. Tata STRIVE is present in 13 Indian states across 70 centres through partner centres as well as Tata STRIVE Skill Development Centres in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Mohali, Pune and Aligarh.

India, Bangladesh have inaugurated Petrapole checkpost
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina jointly inaugurated the Petrapole Integrated Check Post(ICP) through video-conferencing. Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee also participated from Kolkata in the video-conference.
The Petrapole ICP will enable greater economic integration and significantly improve the connectivity between India and Bangladesh.”

India, US agree to enhance cooperation on hydrocarbons, energy
Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and US Secretary for Energy Ernest Moniz have agreed to increase technical and institutional cooperation on hydrocarbons and energy.
The agreed to enhance cooperation in “assessment of both onshore and offshore conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon reserves in India, new technologies in development of biofuel and development of petroleum storage”, a petroleum ministry statement said of their meeting in Washington .

OBITUARY
Legendary singer Mubarak Begum Shaikh passed away
Legendary bollywood playback singer and ghazal maestro Mubarak Begum Shaikh passed away after prolonged illness. she was Blessed with a rich and powerful voice, she died virtually unsung and in penury.
She was 80 years old and started her career with light music recitals in All India Radio. She was proficient in both Hindi and Urdu. Mubarak Begum is known for the evergreen song ‘Kabhi tanhaiyon mein hamari yaad ayegi‘ from the 1961 movie ‘Hamari Yaad Aayegi’, which is, till this day, regarded as a classic rendition.
