Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya, who has been known as the architect of BCCI, passed away in a private hospital in Kolkata on 20th September 2015. He was admitted to hospital after suffering a heart attack. He was admitted to the BM Birla Heart Research Centre . He was 75.
BCCI will soon decide the next chief. Since Dalmiya was from East Zone, the next president will also have to be a nominee from the same zone before BCCI heads for another election. Dalmiya’s body will be brought to the CAB on 21st September 2015 and kept there till 3 pm for people to pay their last respect. His last rites will be performed in the evening on .
About Jagmohan Dalmiya:
- He was an Indian cricket administrator and businessman.
- He was also nicknamed in the media as the Machiavelli of Indian cricket, master of realpolitik, the master of comebacks.
- He was the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and Cricket Association of Bengal.
- He served as the President of the International Cricket Council.
- He joined the BCCI in 1979, and became its treasurer in 1983.
