International Customs Day 2024 is observed on January 26

The 26th of January is International Customs Day every year. In 1953, the Customs Cooperation Council (CCC), which is now called the World Customs Organization (WCO), set this date as a tribute to the hard work of customs workers.

The choice was made at a meeting that started in Brussels, Belgium, and had people from 17 European countries there. Since it changed its name in 1994, the WCO has grown to have 182 member states that all agree to work together on immigration issues.

International Customs Day is held every year on January 26. This day is meant to recognize and appreciate the important work that customs organizations do around the world.

Today shows how important their job is in making sure that goods can easily cross foreign borders while also being safe and following all the rules. As International Customs Day 2024 gets closer, it’s important to know what this day means and what important jobs customs agents do.
