An International Climate Office on Variability and Predictability would be set up in Pune. The main objective to to implement intra-seasonal, seasonal and inter-annual variability and predictability of monsoon systems. An agreement has already been signed between Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) and World Climate Research Programme, Geneva.
IITM is an autonomous body under the Earth System Science Organization (ESSO), which comes under the earth sciences ministry.
