Indian prof’s dept awarded UK royal patronage

Lord Kumar BhattacharyyaQueen Elizabeth II has awarded the Regius Professorship (royal patronage) in Manufacturing to the department founded by Indian professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya in the University of Warwick. IIT-Kharagpur alumnus Lord Bhattacharyya’s Warwick Manufacturing Group is reportedly the largest centre for manufacturing in the world. The UK has granted 14 such recognitions since Queen Victoria’s rule.
