Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his British counterpart Theresa May in the national capital during her 3-day India visit and stressed the need for Britain’s comprehensive participation in boosting peace and prosperity in the two countries and the world. Two MoUs were signed during the high level engagement and the UK was in voice with India against those who perpetrate and foster terrorism.
- PM Modi announced that India and the UK have decided to establish a joint working group on trade and commerce. Prime Minister May also sought to put focus on free trade between the nations and laid importance to move fast in removing trade barriers.
- The two nations also agreed on the fight against terror. PM Modi termed terrorism as clear threat to not only few countries of the world but to the entire humanity.
- Both nations have signed two important MOUs after extensive delegation level talks in Hyderabad House.
- The first MOU is on the Ease of Doing Business while the second is on intellectual Property Rights. Both the countries have also decided to shift gears to top level in the field of defense and security.
