India and United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to increase bilateral trade by 60% in next 5 years

India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)  agreed to enhance their cooperation in all areas of bilateral relations and to increase their trade by 60 per cent over the next five years. The 11th session of their Joint Commission Meeting was held on 3rd September 2015. The meeting was held in New Delhi and was co-chaired by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan.

In the 11th Session,the two countries have agreed to encourage the investment institutions of the UAE to raise their investments in India, including through the establishment of the UAE-India Infrastructure Investment Fund, with the aim of reaching a target of $ 75 billion. Two sides also signed MoUs on cooperation in the areas of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Telecommunication and Tourism. MoU between the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (FICC) and Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry was also signed.
