India and Tanzania signed MoUs in various fields

India has inked a total of eight MoUs with Tanzania in various fields including Agriculture, Tourism and Hydrography to expand engagement in different sectors. These important pacts were signed after delegation level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of Tanzania Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, who is on India visit.

The MoUs signed include a loan agreement between Exim Bank and Tanzanian Government on a line of credit for 268.35 million dollars for extension of Lake Victoria pipeline project.

Some of the important pacts include,

1. MoU on establishing a collaborative program in official statistics

2. MoU on cooperation in Agricultural Statistics, Computer Applications and Bio-informatics

3. MoU on Cooperation in the field of Tourism

4. Loan agreement to operationalize the LoC

5. MOU for Cooperation in the field of Hydrography along with Protocol on exchange of Hydrographic Data

6. Agreement for appointing the former as PMC
