India and Mauritius renew hydrographic cooperation for next 5 years

India and Mauritius have renewed the existing MoU on hydrographic cooperation for the next five years. This renewal would pave the way for continued ties between the two countries. The MoU was renewed during the IXth Hydrographic Committee meeting held at Mauritius from June 29 to July 1.

The area of cooperation under the agreement include periodic survey by Indian Naval ships to chart the vast Mauritian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and various capacity building measures including setting up of a Mauritian hydrographic unit and skill development of Mauritian hydrographers. India and Mauritius have shared strong maritime bonds over the years with myriad areas of mutual cooperation.
