ICICI Bank has launched the a fully automated digital locker named Smart Vault, which is equipped with multi-layer security system. The vault would be available to customers even on weekends and post banking hours. The security features of the vault includes biometric and PIN authentication and debit cards. Customers can access it without any intervention by the branch staff. The Smart Vault is launched by ICICI Bank MD and CEO Chanda Kochhar.
The vault uses robotic technology to access the lockers from the safe vault and enables customers to access their lockers at any time of their preference. The bank has decided to replicate this digital locker facility to a much larger scale in the days to come.
The lockers are of two-three different sizes and charges would depend on that. Also, the locker charges in a city would vary depending on the real estate cost. It has now only been launched in Delhi.
