1)Ans-b)16128

this terms are called a Invoice Credit Terms

The invoice terms indicate when an invoice becomes due and whether a discount may be taken if the invoice is paid sooner.

When a vendor invoice includes terms of 4/10 , 2/20 ,n/30 the “4” represents 4% of the amount owed, the “10” represents 10 days, the “2” represents 2% of the amount owed and the “20” represents 20 days and  the “n” represents the word net, and the “30” represents 30 days.

  • Pay within 10 days and deduct 4% of the net amount owed (the invoice amount minus any authorized returns and/or allowances)
  • Pay within 20 days and deduct 2% of the net amount owed (the invoice amount minus any authorized returns and/or allowances)..
  • Pay in 30 days and take no discount.

here, payment is made on the 7th day

so , case discount is 4 % is allowed

16800 of 4% =  672

Required amount paid by her

16800-672 = 16128

2)By how much above the cost should the goods be marked for sale , so that after allowing a trade discount of 20% and a case discount of 6.25% , a net gain of 20% on the cost is made ?

a) 50%    b)60%    c) 65%    d) 55%

2)Ans –c)60%

Let the cost price = 100

Price after discount of 20% = 80

Price after discount of 6.25%

(80- 6.25*80/100)=75

So, single equivalent discount

= (100-75) = 25%

Again let the cp =Rs 100

Gain % =20%

So , SP = 120

Now a discount of 25% allowed this means that when marked price is Rs 100

Then the SP = 100-25 = 75

Although, 75 is SP and marked price is 100

If  120 is SP then the marked price is

Rs 100/75*120 =  Rs 160

Hence , MP will be 160-100=60%  more than the CP

4)Ans-a)300

Let , marked price of article = x
for salesmen A ,

Sp of article = (x-100)

For sales men B

Sp of article= (x-200)
now according to the qus =
(x-100)/100*10 =(x-200)/100*20

x= 300

5)To fill 12 vacancies there are 25 candidates , of which 5 are local institutes , 3 vacancies are reserved for local institute candidates and the rest are open to all , find the number of ways in which the selection cab be made ?

a) 16796   b)167960    c)1697600    d)167900

5)ANS-d)167900

Total vacancies =12

No. of candidates =25

Local institutes candidate = 5

No. of  vacancies  for local candidate = 3

Which can be filled in = 5c3 ways

Remaining vacancies = 12-3 =9

Remaining candidate = 25-5 =20

These vacancies can be filled in =  20c9 ways

So , required no. of ways = 20c9 * 5c3 =167900

6) A and B together can do a piece of work in 30 days ,B and C together can do it in 20 days , A starts work and works on it for 5 days , then B take up work for 15days and finally C finishes work in 18 days , the no. of days in which C alone can do work when doing it separately ?

a) 36       b)24           c)32       d)34

6) Ans-b)24

Here LCM of 30 and 20 is taken as total work

Assume total work =60 units

Then work done by (A+B) in one day = 60/30 = 2 units

Similarly,

by (B+C) in one day = 60/20 = 3 units

Now according to question, A works 5 days , B for 15 days and C for 18 days to complete total work So,

5A + 15B + 18C = 60 units

5(A+B) + 10(B+C) + 8C = 60 units

5*2 + 10*3 +8C =60 units C = 2.5 units ( C does 2.5 units of work daily)

Therefore, 60/2.5 = 24 days

So, C requires 24 days to complete the work alone.
