Hemant Soren Sworn as Jharkhand CM

On July 4, 2024, Hemant Soren was sworn in as Governor of Jharkhand for the third time. While the oaths were being taken at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi, Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan led the event.

Hemant Soren was reappointed as Chief Minister after Champai Soren quit. Champai Soren had been in charge for a short time while Hemant Soren was in jail. Hemant Soren was a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader. He was in trouble with the law, and on January 31, 2024, the Enforcement Directorate caught him. Because he was in jail, his predecessor ran the state until June 28, 2024, when the Jharkhand High Court freed Soren on bail.

It was in Nemra, Ramgarh district, that Hemant Soren was born into a powerful family. For the first time, he got active in politics after the death of his older brother Durga Soren. He was in politics for a long time and held a lot of important jobs, like member of the Rajya Sabha and Deputy Chief Minister in a government led by Arjun Munda.
