Government clears 6-laning of NH NE-II

The government cleared a proposal for six laning of the Eastern peripheral expressway. The cost of the investment is Rs 7,558 crore. The aim of the project is that it will help check the growing traffic and pollution in Delhi.

Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given approval for development of six laning of Eastern peripheral expressway (National Highway No. NE-II) in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

The total length of the road will be approx 135 kms and this work will be under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis, it said.
