French intellectual Rene Girard passed who is also known as the new Darwin away on 4 November 2015 due to a prolonged illness in the United States. He was 91.

Girard was an eminent writer, he  authored around 30 books including Deceit, Desire and the Novel , Violence and the Sacred and Things Hidden Since the Foundation of the World and Achever Clausewitz (2007).

About Rene Girad:

• He was a French historian, literary critic, and philosopher of social science.
• He was born on December 25, 1923.
• He was also a member of the Académie française.
• In 1985, he received his first honorary degree at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
• Girard’s first book was Deceit, Desire and the Novel (1961 in French; 1965 in English).
