First Electric Aircraft gets wings in China

The world’s first electric passenger aircraft will get an airworthiness certificate. The BX1E has been produced by China. It can fly at an altitude of 3,000 meters. It can charge within two hours, allowing a flight time of 45 minutes to one hour, at a maximum speed of 160 km per hour.

Points to Remember 

  1. The BX1E has a 14.5-meter wingspan.
  2. A maximum payload of 230 kgs.
  3. The plane was designed by Shenyang Aerospace University and Liaoning general aviation academy in the northeastern Liaoning Province.
  4. The first two aircrafts were delivered to Liaoning Ruixiang General Aviation Co. Ltd.
  5. The aircraft can be used in pilot training, tourism, meteorology and rescue operations.
  6. Each BX1E aircraft costs about one million yuan (USD 163,000).
  7. The number of orders has already reached 28.
