The XV IAAF World Championships in Athletics has been concluded on 30th August 2015 at the Beijing’s National Stadium in China. Kenya topped the medals table with 16 medals (7 Golds), followed by Jamaica with 12 medals (7 Golds), and USA with 18 medals (6 Golds) at the third position. United Kingdom and Ethiopia were placed at the fourth and fifth positions respectively. India could not win a single medal in the championships.

- International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) organize the World Championships in Athletics once in two years. It is the most prestigious event in the realm of athletics at the global level.
- The inaugural event of the Championship was held in 1983. Around 200 countries are participating in every event.
- The 15th edition of the championships took place at the Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing, China. A total of 207 countries took part in it.
- The only Indian who won the Medal at IAAF’s World Championship is Anju Bobby George. She won bronze in the 2003 championships held in Paris and gold medal in the 2005 championships held in Montecarlo, Monaco.
- The 14th edition (2013) was held in the Russian capital Moscow.
