Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi has announced the poll schedule for West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and the Union Territory of Puducherry. While elections will be held on different dates in the four states and one UT, all the results will be declared on May 19. The Model Code of Conduct will be enforced with immediate effect and the governments of the poll-bound states as well as the Centre would not be able to announce any new schemes or programmes that may influence the voters.
